So after reading Michael Pollan’s “In Defense of Food,” I became more interested in CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture). I know several people who do it and have thought about it in the past. I love surprises, and like the idea of being surprised what’s in the box this week. Surely there will be things I never would have bought myself, but things that will be fun to try.
Things like patty pan squash:
And okra:
And lots of tomatoes:
I also got fresh eggs. Amazing how different the coloring is. And the shell, too. The shell coloring is different, but the shell also feels different. The coloring of the yolk is different, too. It’s more of a deep golden yellow.
Yesterday, I made an egg scramble thing with onions and peppers and yellow squash and tomatoes and eggs. It was delicious!
I’m really looking forward to trying all sorts of new things.
Here is a picture of all the stuff.
